Five Things to Know Before You Visit

🌿 A Working Woodland Farm
Blueberry Woods Studio is nestled in nature, and I’m often outside, so reaching out ahead is encouraged! (Sorry, it is not a blueberry-picking farm.)

🚣 Studio Season = Kayak Season
When I’m not here, I might be guiding sea kayaking trips for L.L. Bean’s Outdoor Discovery Program just down the road. Another reason to check in before you visit!

🏡 A Hidden Gem
The studio is tucked off a gravel road and a wooded path—just part of Maine’s magic! If you need accessibility assistance, let me know in advance.

🎨 Connected but Cozy
The studio is part of my home but has its own entrance and patio.

🐾 Friendly Faces
You might be greeted by a happy yellow lab or busy little chickens. If you’d feel better about having the Labrador inside, please reach out ahead of time.

?? Silly GPS…..
Some GPS systems try to overshoot and take you to the next road. A smart GPS will have you turn off of Pleasant Hill onto Mustang Valley, across from Frederick Lane and next to Grove Cemetary.

What Else to Explore Nearby?

You’re in the best-kept secret of Freeport—the Flying Point / Pleasant Hill area! Make it an afternoon:

🥖 Pick up a picnic at Bow Street Market and then explore:

🖼 Studio on the Hill
🌱 Tripping Gnome Farm
🖌 Ack Me Arts Gallery
🌲 Wolfe’s Neck State Park (a perfect on-the-ocean stop!)

And then hit 🎨 Sidle House Gallery on your way back into town!

Looking forward to welcoming you! ✨

How the Studio Came to Be

Blueberry Woods was first a vision, then a home, and now, a creative space.

Welcome to Blueberry Woods: A Haven for Cozy Living and Planet-Loving Values

Blueberry Woods invites you to breathe deeply and unwind in five acres of serene Maine woods. This is not just my home; it’s an experience—a contemporary art studio where nature and thoughtful design meet.

As you arrive, the welcoming sight of the local white pine board-and-batten exterior sets the tone. Step inside to find a spacious and intimate open-floor light studio layout. The north-facing picture window steals the show, framing my workspace with serene snowy woods and sunlit mornings that pour light into every corner.

But the magic of Blueberry Woods runs deeper than its charm. This studio is built with a purpose: every choice reflects a commitment to sustainable living and planet-forward thinking.

The Delightful Secret Behind Blueberry Woods

This is more than a studio; it’s a high-performance home aspiring to zero-net energy and low-carbon goals. It’s a space designed to live lightly on the land while also giving back to it. From double-stud walls that keep the home snug and efficient, to a solar system that lassos the energy of our glorious star.

The surrounding land is just as intentional. With its growing biodiversity and ability to sequester carbon, Blueberry Woods doesn’t just exist in the woods—it contributes to their thriving future.
